A half-day trip to Kost Castle starts with a pickup at your chosen address in Prague or the surrounding area in a spacious and air-conditioned car with a friendly and English-speaking driver. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, during which you will see beautiful views of the local countryside and small villages that you will pass along the way. From the locally-living driver, you can learn a lot of interesting facts about the history, life, and facts in the Czech Republic. Upon arrival, the driver will explain where to go, what not to miss, advise on where to eat well (if we do not have a private guide) and agree on where to meet on the way back.

Kost Castle is located in the immediate vicinity of the parking lot, so you just need to walk a little to the ticket office and purchase a ticket. Kost Castle has 4 tour circuits with different durations. We recommend the third combined circuit, which goes through the entire castle and lasts for 110 minutes. Refreshments are also available on site.

Afterwards, you will meet up with your driver and head back home.

Trip description

Location information
Kost Castle is a Gothic castle located in the village of Libkovice pod Železnými horami in the Czech Republic. It was built in the first half of the 14th century, although its history dates back to the 13th century, when there was a fortified residence on the site.

Over the years, Kost Castle was rebuilt and expanded several times, both architecturally and defensively. Today, it is one of the best-preserved castles in the Czech Republic and is open to the public for viewing.

During the tour, visitors can see many interesting rooms, such as the chapel of St. Margaret, the cellar, the great tower, the castle palace, the armory, and more. The interiors also house many valuable historical exhibits, such as ancient weapons, armor, and works of art.

In addition to the castle tour, visitors can also enjoy the beautiful surroundings, whether by walking around the area or hiking in the nearby Iron Mountains. Various cultural events, such as knight tournaments, are held in the area during the summer.

Kost Castle is a very interesting place worth visiting for anyone interested in the history, architecture, and culture of the Czech Republic.
