The half-day trip to Konopiště Castle begins with a pickup at your chosen address in Prague or its surroundings in a spacious and air-conditioned car with a friendly and English-speaking driver. The journey takes about 45 minutes, during which you will see beautiful views of the local countryside and small villages that you will pass along the way. From the locally living driver, you can learn a lot of interesting facts about the history, life, and facts in the Czech Republic. Upon arrival, the driver will explain where to go, what not to miss, recommend good places to eat (in case we don't have a private guide), and agree on where to meet on the way back.

Upon arrival at the parking lot, you will walk about 400 meters through the information center and the sprawling park to the castle. Konopiště has 4 basic tours of varying lengths (the first is also suitable for wheelchair users) and 3 exhibitions - it is necessary to ensure that the selected route is accessible in the given season and whether online reservation is required. We always recommend purchasing tickets online due to high attendance. During the visit to the castle, we also plan for some time for refreshments.

Subsequently, you will meet up with your driver and head back home.

Trip description

Location information
Castle Konopiště is a magnificent castle located in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is known for its rich history, architecture, and stunning gardens. Originally built in the 13th century, the castle was renovated in the 19th century by Archduke Franz Ferdinand d'Este, who transformed it into a luxurious residence in the Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance styles.
Visitors to Konopiště Castle can admire its impressive collection of artwork, including paintings, tapestries, sculptures, and antique furniture. The castle is also home to an extensive collection of hunting trophies, which was one of Archduke Franz Ferdinand's passions. Visitors can see his private chambers, which have been preserved in their original state and reflect his love for hunting.
The castle's gardens are equally impressive, with a mix of French and English styles. Visitors can stroll through the rose garden, Japanese garden, and the English park, which features a large lake and is home to various bird species. Additionally, Konopiště Castle hosts various cultural events, such as classical music concerts, exhibitions, and festivals, which are enjoyed by both locals and tourists.
