Duration: 6h
Availability: 2.1 - 31.12 (all year)
A full-day trip to the magical and unspoiled nature of Prachov Rocks with countless breathtaking views and narrow rocky alleys begins with a pick-up at your chosen address in Prague or the surrounding area in a spacious and air-conditioned car with a friendly and well-English speaking driver. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, during which you will see beautiful views of the local countryside and small villages that you will pass through along the way. From the locally living driver, you can learn a lot of interesting things about the history, life, and facts in the Czech Republic. Upon arrival, the driver will explain where to go, what not to miss, advise where to eat well (in case we do not have a private guide), and arrange where to meet on the way back.

You will have about 3.5 hours to explore the Prachov Rocks, where you will decide for yourself how to deal with them. We recommend walking the "Big Circuit" along the green hiking trail, which is 3.5km long and takes about 3 hours, where you will have to climb dozens of stairs between the rocks and also visit 8 breathtaking viewpoints.

Then, you will meet up with your driver and head back home.

Trip description

Location information
Prachovské skály, located in the northern part of the Czech Republic, are a popular tourist destination known for their unique and stunning rock formations. The history of the rocks dates back to the end of the Cretaceous period, about 65 million years ago, when the entire region was covered by the sea. Over time, the sea retreated and the exposed sandstone formations were shaped by the forces of erosion, creating the fascinating rock formations that can be seen today.

The Prachov Rocks have been known since ancient times, and their first written mention can be traced back to the 14th century. In the past, the rocks were used as a source of sandstone for building purposes, and some of the rocks were even used to build parts of Prague Castle.

Today, the Prachov Rocks are protected as a national nature reserve and are a popular destination for hikers, climbers, and tourists. The rocks cover an area of about 5 square kilometers and reach up to 60 meters in height. The rocks are interconnected by a network of narrow paths and stairs, and there are several marked trails of varying difficulty for visitors to explore.

1. The most popular trail the "Big Circuit"

The most popular trail is about 3.5 kilometers long and takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Along the trail, visitors will pass through narrow rocky alleys and climb steep stairs, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
